It has come to the attention of the International Financial Services Commission (the “Commission”) that fraudulent copies of licences are being reproduced and circulated to the public/investors, causing financial losses and significant reputational damage to Belize as a well-regulated jurisdiction.
In an effort to combat the fraudulent reproduction of IFS Practitioners licences, effective immediately, a licensee may no longer visually display a copy of its licence(s) on its website. Failure to discontinue displaying a copy of its licence(s) on its website may lead to the Commission taking disciplinary action against the licensee.
All licensees are advised to take note.
