International Cooperation
The FSC cooperates with international and regional organisations in the global fight to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. As such, the FSC facilitates Belize’s membership and participation in the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF), the Caribbean Group of Securities Regulators (CGSR), and the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
In January 2026, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Belize was admitted as an Ordinary Member of IOSCO, marking a significant milestone in Belize’s continued integration into the international framework for cross-border securities regulation, supervision, and enforcement cooperation.
Ordinary Membership is the highest level of participation within IOSCO and is reserved for national securities regulators that meet the organisation’s rigorous standards for regulatory capacity and enforcement cooperation, and adherence. IOSCO’s members collectively regulate more than 95% of the world’s securities markets across 130 jurisdictions.
ABOUT IOSCO The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) is the leading international policy forum for securities regulators and the global standard setter for financial markets regulation. It develops, implements, and promotes adherence to internationally recognized standards for financial markets regulation and works closely with other international organizations on the global regulatory reform agenda.
The FSC’s integration into the CGSR not only solidifies its position as a forward-thinking regulatory authority but also paves the path for collaborative advancements and underscores its dedication to elevating Belize’s securities regulation standards and its commitment to establish a robust regulatory environment for both consumers and investors.
ABOUT CGSR The Caribbean Group of Securities Regulators (CGSR) is a statutory body responsible for the regulation and oversight of investment funds, securities, and capital markets. The FSC’s membership in the CGSR serves as a pivotal forum for mutual exchange among member states, fostering cross-border information sharing on emerging risks and issues and jurisdictional capacity building for mutual collaboration and cooperation.
